Farewell gig, Witham Rugby Club
Slims farewell gig was held on Friday 26th Feb 1999 at the Witham Rugby Club. As
with many previous visits to the club, this was a charity gig with the sole purpose of
raising money for local causes. The target for fundraising on this occasion was to
pay for training for a guide dog puppy, fittingly named "Slim".

John and Kevin from excellent R+B outfit, The Makeshifts, provided the PA
and sound engineering for the evening. |
 |
Supporting Slim were the Voodoo Chillis, playing a mix of rock covers and
original material. |
 |
The crowd fill the club up to capacity as Slim get ready to Rock'n'Roll. |
 |
The crowd boogie as the band belt out yet another up-tempo R+B number. |
 |
During the interval event organiser, Jerry Hill hands over an unfeasibly
large cheque for £2,500. |
 |
Mick O'Dell sells another limited edition band CD. 50 individually
numbered copies raised another £500. |
 |
The interval is over, time for some more action. |

And another dose of the same! |

Paul Townsend stands on a radiator to get a good view over the capacity

To quote a line from a famous song, "It's all over now". |
